Bioretention Ponds

Bioretention ponds are used to capture excess storm water to reduce the chance of overall property flooding. The base of the pond contains drainage pipe, gravel, and special bioretention soil/sand to reduce the velocity of the storm water runoff, also allowing the excess water to flow down to the pipe and be redirected. Plants and vegetation are also planted within the pond acting as a filtration system.
